Non Structural Components
On this page you can find the Seismic Force Calculation formulas as per ASCE-7-10 for Non Structural Components, considering the different factors as per code with a unit dead load.
Note
The Seismic force shall be calculated according to the equation (13.3-1) from the code then it will be compared to the maximum and minimum value from equations (13.3-2) & (13.3-3) respectively.
Therefore,
if the calculated value of seismic force is bigger than the min. and less than the max. value, then it will be adopted for the design.
if the calculated value is less than the min. then the minimum value shall be used in the design.
if the calculated value is bigger than the max. then the maximum value shall be used in the design.
